TOP MOVIES NEWS: DIRECTOR OF 'SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN' DIES

Malik Bendjelloul was found dead last Tuesday in Stockholm. He was 36. Police confirmed death without stating the cause. Bendjelloul was the Swedish film-maker who won the 2013 Academy Award for best documentary with his debut feature 'Searching For Sugar Man'.

Being an inexperienced film-maker, Bendjelloul edited his film in his Stockholm apartment and paid the most of it himself. Here seen in the photo Bendjelloul with with Sixto Rodriguez.

'Searching For Sugar Man' is about the forgotten American balladeer named Sixto Rodriguez who unwittingly achieved fame halfway around the world and vanished from the music scene mysteriously. The film takes its title from a song about a drug dealer in Rodriguez's 1970 album, Cold Fact.
