The Real-life Movie Star Injuries

On one scene, Leonardo DiCaprio's character Calvin Candie smashes his hand on the table; the actor broke the glass and accidentally made a cut on his palm. DiCaprio ignored it, with blood dripping down his hand he stayed in character and continued with the scene, he even smears it onto the face of Kerry Washington’s Broomhilda. Quentin Tarantino liked it and used this take on the film.
Shia LaBeouf - ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’: In July 2008, Shia LaBeouf flipped his truck during a traffic accident in West Hollywood, crushing his left hand in the process. He returned to shoot the ‘Transformers’ sequel after surgery, with Michael Bay rewriting the script to allow LaBeouf to wear a bandage on his left hand.

No prosthetics were made for Stu's missing tooth to achieve the effect; rather they remove an implant Ed Helms’ had fitted when he was aged 16 after an adult tooth failed to grow.
Natalie Portman dislocated her rib during production and discovered that the film's budget was so low they couldn't afford a medic. She won 2011 Oscar's Best Actress.
